Product Rename Registry
Salesforce products have been renamed, rebranded, and acquired dozens of times since the platform launched. Board scenarios, community blog posts, and legacy documentation may reference product names from any era. This registry maps every significant rename chain from inception to the current name (April 2026), along with the API namespaces that persist regardless of branding.
Use Ctrl+F to search for any old product name. The Quick Lookup Table gives fast decoding; the Full Rename History sections give full context.
CTA Exam Relevance
Board scenarios frequently use old product names. Instant recognition of rename history, and knowing which API prefixes persist in metadata, signals deep platform expertise. The biggest traps: Data Cloud vs Data 360 vs Genie, Agentforce vs Einstein Copilot, Revenue Cloud vs Salesforce CPQ (SBQQ), Communities vs Experience Cloud, ETM2 vs Sales Territories, and Chat/Live Agent vs Enhanced Chat (MIAW).

Dreamforce 2025: Cloud-to-Agentforce Mapping
At Dreamforce 2025, Salesforce began rebranding core products under the Agentforce umbrella. Based on verification against official Salesforce product pages, pricing pages, documentation, and press releases (as of April 2026), these renames fall into three categories:
Fully official renames. Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Commerce Cloud, Revenue Cloud, and Data Cloud have been renamed on official product pages and pricing. Data 360 (formerly Data Cloud) is the most definitive, with an official release note declaring the change on Oct 14, 2025. Commerce Cloud’s product page explicitly says “Agentforce Commerce (formerly Commerce Cloud).”
Transitioning names. Nonprofit Cloud appears as “Agentforce Nonprofit” in some guides but not all pricing pages. Revenue Cloud appears as “Agentforce Revenue Management” in blogs and press releases while the product page still says “Revenue Cloud.” These names are actively transitioning but not yet fully consistent across all Salesforce surfaces.
AI feature layers (not renames). Field Service, Financial Services Cloud, Health Cloud, and Education Cloud retain their original product names. “Agentforce for Field Service” and similar constructs refer to AI agent capabilities layered onto these products. The preposition “for” signals a feature, not a rename. Customer 360 to Agentforce 360 and Einstein to Agentforce AI are portfolio-level umbrella labels, not individual product renames.
| Cloud Era Name | Agentforce Era Name |
|---|---|
| Sales Cloud | Agentforce Sales |
| Service Cloud | Agentforce Service |
| Commerce Cloud | Agentforce Commerce |
| Revenue Cloud | Agentforce Revenue Management |
| Data Cloud | Data 360 |
| Field Service | Agentforce for Field Service |
| Financial Services Cloud | Agentforce for Financial Services |
| Health Cloud / Life Sciences | Agentforce for Life Sciences |
| Nonprofit Cloud | Agentforce Nonprofit |
| Education Cloud | Agentforce for Education |
| Customer 360 | Agentforce 360 |
| Einstein / AI Cloud | Agentforce AI |
CTA Board Tip
Using either the old “Cloud” name or the new Agentforce name is acceptable on the CTA board. Judges understand both and will not penalize “Sales Cloud” instead of “Agentforce Sales” or vice versa. The board evaluates architectural decisions, not product vocabulary. That said, using the current name is preferred because it signals platform awareness. The key distinction: “Agentforce X” (a product rename) vs “Agentforce FOR X” (an AI feature layer on an existing product). Getting this right shows you understand the architecture, not just the branding.
Products that kept their names: Experience Cloud, Tableau (now Tableau Next), Slack, CRM Analytics, Heroku, Net Zero Cloud, Shield.
API Names That Didn’t Change
Architects regularly encounter legacy prefixes in metadata, SOQL queries, and managed package references. This table decodes which product each prefix belongs to.
| Product (Current Name) | Previous Name | API Prefix | Where You See It |
|---|---|---|---|
| Salesforce CPQ (legacy managed package) | SteelBrick CPQ | SBQQ__ | Quote lines, product rules, pricing config |
| Salesforce Billing (legacy managed package) | - | blng__ | Invoice, payment, revenue schedules |
| MC Account Engagement | Pardot | pi__ | Prospect fields, scoring, connector endpoints (pi.pardot.com) |
| B2B Commerce (legacy) | CloudCraze | ccrz__ | Cart, product, storefront objects in legacy orgs |
| CRM Analytics | Wave / Einstein Analytics | wave__ | Dashboard, lens, dataset metadata |
| Data 360 | Data Cloud / CDP | ssot__ | Data model objects, identity resolution |
| Experience Cloud | Community Cloud | Network, Site | Site config, member objects, sharing rules |
| Sales Territories | ETM / ETM2 | Territory2 | Territory models, user associations |
| Agentforce Field Service | FSL | FSL__ | Scheduling, service appointments |
| Salesforce Industries | Vlocity | vlocity_cmt__, omnistudio__ | OmniScripts, FlexCards, industry data models |
| Enhanced Chat | Live Agent / Chat | LiveChatTranscript, LiveAgentSession | Legacy chat objects still in metadata |
Legacy Prefixes Persist Indefinitely
API namespaces and object prefixes never change when a product is renamed. An org that adopted Salesforce CPQ in 2017 will still have SBQQ__ objects in 2026 and beyond. Always check the namespace prefix when investigating unfamiliar metadata in a client org.
